The increasing influence of the open economy creating new network structures, self-organisation and cooperative strategies are having relentless impacts on many of the central areas of teaching and learning, change driven by a broad range of factors. There is a need to hit the educational reset button and refresh the experience and the outcomes. The "Old Wine, New Bottle" syndrome must end, there must be a recognition that technology has successfully removed the constraints of time and space and as a result has forced us to reimagine our present understanding of where, when and how learning can take place. The aim is to develop a community of educators, designers, and technologists, who are dedicated to exploring new creative learning spaces. We will collaborate to create hands-on projects based on our briefs, explore new technologies, and share ideas with with each other.

  • Learning Labs are organised opportunities for teachers to engage in the work of teaching together. Learning Labs are designed to offer professional development that is close to practice and fosters collaborative communities in which educators continue to learn from one another and develop shared practices. There is an onus to build on previous research. Such is the pace of change many institutions are ill equipped to take advantage of emerging opportunities. the application of new technologies must be based on a well-informed pedagogic approach. effective education processes will not proceed systematically without the applied skills of the educational technologist. There is a need to combine such skills with the knowledge contained within the broader education community
